SECURITY INSTALLATIONS FAQ's
How do security installations work?
Every security system is installed with a control panel that is hardwired to a key pad with your electrical power connected to it. In most systems you have the option of hardwiring into your electrical panel, or installing wirelessly using batteries. Coupled with motion sensors and glass breaking sensors, there are transmitters and sirens set to inform you of any intrusions. You also are able to connect smoke detectors to the system that will alert the call center to inform the proper authorities. A more advanced system setup option is the ability to come with apps that enable you 24 hour monitoring on your phone or computer.
Where do I install my systems?
Most systems control panels are installed in the closet of a master bedroom or hallway. The key pad is more flexible in regard to location yet usually found near the front entry, garage door or kitchen of the home.
What happens when my security system is activated?
Depending on what is activated in the system it will first notify the homeowner by an alarm set off or a beep on the key pad. The signals are sent and alerting the call center who will check in with you on your safety. There are many ways to set up your notifications with your security system, but this is the most recommended.
How can I monitor my security system?
In addition to online monitoring and phone app installations, there are screens and monitors available for commercial applications or more intensive residential applications. These types of camera systems are not typically integrated into security systems and are normally separate.
